11/10/2009  13 hours ago Today, Release # 10-033 from the US Consumer
The recall notice reports that the stroller's hazardous hinge mechanism poses a risk for fingertip amputation and laceration to the child when the consumer is unfolding/opening the stroller ~ not exactly what a mother wants or what a baby needs.

These popular and high-end priced strollers were available for purchase at Target and Babies "R" Us stores located in the Houston area, as well as other states nationwide. Consumers are advised to stop using the stroller and contact Maclaren for a free repair kit. For additional information, contact Maclaren USA toll-free at (877) 688-2326

Smoke alarms save lives!

Have you checked your smoke detectors?

Your fire safety and prevention is important to us. So we would like to provide you with a few fire prevention tips.

You should test all smoke detectors at least once a month by pushing and holding the test button. When you change your clocks in the spring and fall you should also replace the batteries in all of your smoke detectors. Also, it's a good idea to vacuum your detector, so that cobwebs and dust particles do not prevent the detector from working properly.

If your smoke detectors are older than 10 years old, you need to replace them. Detectors only work properly for about ten years. Smoke detectors can be purchased from most hardware and general drug stores. If you live in Blanchard Township or the Village of Benton Ridge, you could qualify for a free smoke detector.

You should have at least one smoke detector on every floor of your house. Also you should have a detector in the immediately adjacent area next to any bedroom or other sleeping quarters. Usually, you should place your smoke detectors on the ceiling or on the wall within one foot of the ceiling. Remember, always follow your manufacturer's directions.

I knew that!

Did you ever wonder why Fire trucks are Red? Fire trucks have four wheels and eight men. Four and eight make twelve. There are twelve inches in a foot. Rulers are a foot long. Queen Elizabeth II is a ruler and is also the name of the largest ship that sails the seven seas. Seas have fish and fish have fins. The Finns fought the Russians and the Russians are red. Fire trucks are always Russian therefore fire trucks are Red!
