Program Description and Eligibility Requirements

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
In order to promote higher education for the children of our membership, St. Paul's United Church of Christ will award an annual scholarship (s) to a deserving student recipient (s). Each year, scholarship funds, not to exceed 2% of the total value of the Endowment Fund, will be available for award of $1000 scholarships. Based upon continued academic performance, this scholarship may be renewed annually not to exceed a total award of $3,000 to any one student. Monies will be sent to the University, not to the student.

In order to be considered, completed applications, along with all required attachments, must be submitted to the Endowment Committee Chairperson of St. Paul's United Church of Christ no later than June 7. The scholarship recipient will be notified by July 31. The scholarship amount will be granted in one payment.

MEMBERSHIP STATUS
The applicant must be a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sidney, Ohio.

STUDENT APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Initial scholarship award is available to students who have completed three quarters (or two semesters) of equivalent work from an accredited college or university and be registered for the following term. In order to remain eligible, the student applicant must be a full-time student attending an accredited college or university and be working toward no less than an Associate Degree. There is no restriction as to the field of study.

Students must be in good standing with their respective college or university and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0 or equivalent. Students must submit an original grade report for renewal verification. In the event that a scholarship recipient withdraws or fails to meet the minimum eligibility requirements, remaining scholarship funds will revert to St. Paul's United Church of Christ's Endowment Fund. For a student to be considered for renewal, he/she must submit a completed application along with all required attachments to be reviewed by the Endowment Committee.

PROGRAM MODIFICATIONS
St. Paul's United Church of Christ reserves the right to amend, revise, or cancel the program when deemed necessary by the Church Council. If modifications to the program affect the renewal option, notice of such modifications will be made no later than June 1 of the affected calendar year.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The St. Paul's United Church of Christ Student Scholarship will be awarded by the Endowment Committee based on the applicant's academic performance, leadership abilities, extracurricular participation, participation in the life of St. Paul’s, and personal characteristics.
