Individuality
From EKU Prophet Volume 1, Issue 5, April 11, 1970
A tree standing in the forest has individuality, in its youth it is like the many others surrounding it, but as it ages it grows stronger and more massive. Defiant of all those who tread beneath it. This is not so with the grain of sand on the beach, true it has individuality but no one seems to take the time to inspect it closely. With age the sand deteriorates, growing smaller and smaller, to eventual nothingness. The sand is continually tread upon by earths most vile creature. When the sand is gone it serves no useful purpose but when the tree finally falls it serves as food for its offspring and makes room for these now growing, younger trees in an endless cycle of life. If the tree is cut prematurely by earths vile creature it will be missed and mourned by the other creatures of the forest, those who depended upon it for food and shelter. If the sand is picked from the beach and thrown into the sea none will even notice its disappearance. The other grains of sand will only be grateful that they have more room to live. True the tree will be more vulnerable to the hazards of life with the rain, cold, and lightning helping to determine his fate. The sand escapes these hazards but its fate is predetermined with death without regeneration as its inevitable end and only time as its controlling factor. Is not the life of the tree, a more fuller, serving a more useful existence while on earth, far greater than that of the sand? For the sands existence is but an eternal battle against the other grains so it may itself avoid the friction of those others. Mingled millions together, each slowly grinding away at, and destroying each other.
The Poker Game
From EKU Prophet, Vol 1, Issue 3, January 1, 1970
" .the one fact about the future of which we can be certain is that it will be utterly fantastic." ---Arthur C. Clarke
Editors Note: The father of the above quote, Arthur C. Clarke, in Profiles of the Future, predicts anti-gravity to come in 80 years, not within our life span. I personally believe it will be sooner. The following story although it is fictitious may very well prove true, and within our lifetimes or rather at the end of them.
At 5:30 A.M., July 16, 1945 near Los Alamos in the New Mexico desert a new age was born the Atomic Age. For at this time, date, and place the first atomic bomb was detonated.
What was going through the minds of those there at 5:25? Five minutes before the detonation. The scientist there knew they had before them the most powerful creature on earth, they did not know how powerful but that it was more powerful than any man made object before them. Many undoubtedly prayed these last five minutes because they knew that the principle of which this enormous monster operated could possible destroy the entire earth. The chain reaction, once started in his monster could not be stopped by man, only by physical principles. The free neutrons discharged in the explosion may also split other atoms in the desert sand below it. Discharging other electrons starting a chain reaction that would engulf the earth.
It was a universal poker game. The stakes were high, the earth and science. This was quite a gamble at 5:25, the last bet was made. Man bet the earth for the sake of science, there was no turning back for at 5:30 the cards would be laid on the table, all would be lost or an age would be gained Science won with a pair of duces against an Ace high.
Universal poker games are few and far between. Lets move on to the next one.
On October 31, 1991, Scientist are again gathered to together to launch a new age, -- The Gravity Age. There is no praying this time because man has learned he is a mechanical creature without a soul, a creature who can determine his own destiny. No gambling either, this time man had a full house Aces and eights, because it was not like it was 46 years ago, man having realized his imperfections created a perfect creature, the computer. The computer makes no errors and the computer says there is no danger. Therefore, there is no fear in the pale green cement building at the birth of this new age. At 1:13 the button was pushed that activated the result of mans dream, the anti-gravity machine. But contrary to man's and the computers expectations, Nature, God, The Universe or whatever it may be, laid out a Royal Flush.
A core 50 miles in diameter split from the center of the earth and shot into space. The earths molten center poured from the gapping hole and spread hundred of miles in every direction. The earths crust collapsed, dropping the oceans to its center, exploded the earth in an eruption of fire, steam and rock.
Now there are only eight planets in Solar Number One.
Who will inherit the earth after man?
From Eastern Kentucky University Cybernoid, Vol 1, Issue 2 , October 26, 1970
The most likely contender for king of the earth, after man, is the Cape hunting dog of Africa. He is also known as the African hunting dog, Wild dog, and Lycaon pictis.
The Cape hunting dog is the worlds second most successful predator, (man being first) with a successful kill rate of over 85%. He takes an average of only 25 minutes between starting the hunt and capturing prey. With hunting time per day, including eating, around two and a half hours. Habitual food sharing is a basic element in the packs way of life as is communal hunting and division of labor. These elements are unknown to non human primates. The dogs success rate, food sharing, and division of labor are what places him as the most likely inheritor after man. But there are other implications that place him very much in the same position as ancestral and modern man as a typical few hours with the pack indicates.
The pack is lolling in the grasslands of central Africa. It consist of nine males, four females and sixteen pups. The adults are about two feet tall and weigh around 40 lbs. each. They are black, orange-yellow and white patches. The hair is so thin that the black skin shows through the fur in spots. It is about 6:30 in the evening one member of the pack gets up and starts nudging and playing with another in a chain reaction fashion others join in until they are romping in a circle. Then one dog seems to assume the role of victim and the others gang up on it pushing it over and rolling it about but not biting. This continues until they reach a religious like frenzy and the animals twitter like a flock of song birds. They then in single file trot off to the hunt leaving two males and all the females at the base to take care of the pups. The males return an hour later and regurgitate food for the pups, females, and guards in that order. The pups are top priority. There is no dissent in the pack or tribe except among the females (and even there a rarity) who want the honor of taking care of the pups which is a tribal effort as all the tribe takes care of them regardless of who their mother is. The adult dogs are continually assuming postures of humility toward each other by acting like pups seemingly to keep peace in the tribe.
We look in three months later on the Cape tribe and find that only two of the sixteen pups have died which is a very low infant mortality rate in the wild. But then four months later find that only nine of the entire tribe of thirty-two survive. The others had been wiped out by a distemper epidemic.
The parallels between our ancestors and even man today are far closer than any other animal including our cousins the higher primates. Of the most significant parallels his success rate as a predator is definitely equal to early mans and surpasses todays man in the sense that for survival he, the dog, must work only three hours per day. This society of the Cape dog is definitely an affluent one. Of 24 hours, utilizing nine to sleep and three to work, there are twelve hours of free time to do as he pleases. To reach a goal anywhere near this a civilized society would have to turn us into ultra-Cybernoids or ultra-naturaloids. Next of the parallels would be love of the young and this to is at least equal or beyond modern man. Cooperation for the sake of the young in modern society does not exist. Cooperation in the Cape dog can be defined as love of fellow man or in his case fellow dog because conditioning is obviously significant in all animal life (man included) and a showering of love on the pups as in the Cape dogs case would have to carry over into adulthood. This showering of love on the young is nearly gone in the Cybernoids civilization but it no doubt had a significant role in our beginnings. This cooperation carry over into adulthood is further indicated by the habitual food sharing and the division of labor which would in my opinion classify them as a tribe instead of a pack. Next on the parallel list and probably most significant is their ritual tendencies. Here is a direct parallel to ancestral man and his Montespan cave bear rituals in France at the time of Neanderthal. Before closing the religious issue we should take a look at the major means of death, disease. As the dogs die in mass by an unknown and incomprehensible cause (to the dogs) they have the basic element for a break from animals to man. If it is at all feasible they will make this break to a religion due to this death by disease. This is difficult to comprehend so I will try to explain it in detail; The tribe of 32 suddenly is reduced to nine and the nine survivors cannot comprehend this sudden loss without apparent reason as they would a loss by combat death. The ability to accept a loss such as this could not be conditioned by their ancestral tribe. A surviving dog with any ability at all to think would have to (as this is the most puzzling fact of life) become aware of the existence of a superior being, a supernatural being as this would be the only way to explain the loss of thirteen fellow dogs. This would especially be true in the case of the lost pups as their life evolves around the rearing of these pups, and after all they have twelve hours per day for this original stroke of genius to hit them. And when they get, if they already arent, on his primitive religious road then they are also on the road to inheriting the earth.
All the necessary conditions are there, in the Cape dogs tribal life, for their original stroke of genius to hit the one that hit man sometime in his past the one that made man the thinking creature he is today one that had to be before he could rush toward an insane end, a relinquishing of his position as king of the mountain.
What are people for?
From Eastern Kentucky University Cybernoid, Vol 1, Issue 1, September 21, 1970
Sir Julian Huxley asks this question but man has searched since times unknown for its answer. This search is called the search for ultimate truth. Today some say the answer is Communism, some say Socialism and others Capitalistic Democracy and in the light of the fallacies of all these systems, some say constant change is ultimate truth. All these are systems. Even the advocator of "constant change" advocate systematic change.
There is truth in all these systems, some contain more truth than others but none contain ultimate truth. The truth of these systems with the exception of birth and death rely upon the acceptance of a fabricated world. If this fabricated world has flaws than all the systems have pseudo-foundations and a system built upon a false foundation isnt worth a damn. This pseudo-foundation is materialism. Obviously Adam and Eve were happy in the Garden of Eden running around nude and making love. But! When they ate from the tree of life they became materialistic. Their first possessions were fig leaves and ever since that time man has cluttered the earth with materialistic junk which includes devastating weapons and pollutants of nature, his original home. Why? All of you, I am sure, remember your childhood when you were in an immature state, when you were fascinated by new toys. As a baby you were given a rattler because it fascinated you. Today a shiny vette fascinates the mature male babies and a house with shiny new furniture the female babies. Tomorrow a piece of paper with a banks name and a lot of numbers on it will fascinate the dying babies. And throughout this fabricated life of man he obtains toys to fascinate his childish mind. Our entire civilized world is based on our childish fascination for toys. What idiocy! The systems fabricate our world all between that which they cannot (birth and death) and they fabricate it on the acquisition of toys.
Here is why we run into difficulties. We have stagnated on this materialistic acquisition for 12,000 years and are conditioned by all available systems toward this acquisition. We have always found an imperfect system because they are based on this pseudo-foundation. Then what is man for, if not materialistic acquisition. Happiness is undoubtedly the answer, happiness for mankind, happiness for man and woman the most majestic and beautiful creatures on earth. But what is true happiness? For this answer we must go back past mans turbulent civilization back past the 12,000 years of conditioning back to Eden where man and woman were beautiful creatures unspoiled by materialistic possessions.
What is here at Eden? What that would make man happy? As this is a non-system with 12,000 years of conditioning working against your understanding of it, it is difficult to explain. The best way is for you, the reader, to experience it. Take a partner female if you are a male, a male if you are a female to a remote spot remote in the sense it is beyond the noise of the cybernoids and is not littered by cybernetic feces such as coke bottles, beer cans and paper. There are many places where you can do this in our nearby hills. Now that you are there in natures environment, strip nude and place your clothes beyond sight. Now look around and listen to all around you and encompass in your mind what is there within your immediate acoustical and visual grasp. Do not think of the Capitalistic rat race over the hill or the cybernoid conditioning across the ocean do as nature would dictate and as long as you can grasp this immediate natural non-cluttered world you will have experienced ultimate truth. What man and woman are you? Are you the two within the boundaries set by nature or are you another two a hundred years past, a thousand, or ten-thousand. You in this brief moment are all of these because time has ceased to exist only man, woman and nature exist. You are Adam and Eve and all thereafter. There is no today, no tomorrow, on society, no rat race, no conditioning, no time, for time is a systematic sequential fabrication of society. You are all times past and future and the world exist within your acoustical and visual perceivable limit. You exist in this span of time yet in all time in a state of total uninhibited animalistic freedom.
When you return to the Cybernoids world you will know that at that moment of all time you had experienced ultimate truth. You will know that "people" are not "for" acquiring toys, that "people are for" living a life that something or someone took 4.5 billion years to create for us, not a life that the God playing aristocrats fabricate for us so he and we can create more toys to clutter the earth.
