Ana May's Last Supper

Chapter 9

Garry, Phillip, Stephen and Zarathustra enter Roosevelt Hall through the Business Register building. Roosevelt was the old computer building and still housed some of the larger mainframe computers.

Roosevelt had more security devices than Business Register. Brother Matthew had tried to get after hour access to all parts of Roosevelt, but had failed to do so. One of the areas that was necessary to access was routes to the mainframes, and

these were all in secured areas. Stephen had taken photographs of the area, and Phillip and Garry were now studying them.

Phillip pointed to one of the photographs spread out in card fashion in his hand saying, "If we could access this box which is in one of the off limits areas and rearrange a couple of wires, we could then remotely, access, the mainframes upstairs."

Garry,"But this a secure area. We can't get in at night."

Phillip,"This is where Zarathrustra comes in. Because mammals, specifically man, can only move so slow they have set up their motion detectors for a speed below what man is capable . Zarathrustra can move slower than their detectors can detect movement.

Zarathrustra can also place a photo on a video camera lens faster than the human eye can perceive.

There is no alarm system ever built that Zarathrustra cannot get through without detection.

From the time the area is closed down until someone opens it again, we have six hours. Zarathrustra can move through their motion detectors and he needs only a few minutes to switch the wires."

Garry, "You know we are considering Ana May a life form. Do you consider Zarathrustra a life form?"

Phillip,"You have to realize the definition of life as well as all words are created by man. Life in its absolute sense can be defined as all things that move. All things do move. Therefore all things live.

Zarathrustra lives as sure as man lives.

Ana May is a little more difficult to comprehend. However, the very wise humans on earth recognize that things can exist that we cannot see, but someone else saw in their minds and told us about. The Atom is one of these things.

Some men had seen it only in their minds, and given logical arguments, for its existence. Others accepted those logical arguments and later the atom was actually seen without the arguments.

Ana May is also one of those things. Some see her in their minds and have convinced me that she exists because she must exist. The evidence of her existence is manifested in her actions. This is exactly like the Atom. Things acted a particular way, therefore the atom had to exist to explain those actions. The same is true with Ana May."

Garry,"For things to live, don't they have to perceive the existence of other things? Does Zarathrustra perceive our existence or should we say know the environment exist?"

Phillip,"Zarathrustra does know. He has sensors that tell when his power supply is low. He knows when he is running out of food."

Garry,"But does he know what food is?"

Phillip,"Yes he knows it is electrons that are running through his system.

He knows what life and death is. He knows if the electron flow drops below a certain level that he will die and he will use all remaining energy to get more electricity."

Stephen had been listening to the conversation, but now spoke,"My concept of life is broad enough to accept Ana May. I once did a paper on the life of rocks."

Garry,"I am sure that if you think rocks live, then you would believe Ana May lived."

Stephen."I was taking these photos with an 8X10 pin hole camera. I used some Army surplus chloride paper that supposedly expired in 1943. The exposures were six or so hours in length. After taking a few photos, I realized that there was a previously undiscovered dimension of time I called slow time.

Slow time is time where things move at a rate slower than man can perceive. Things move all the same, but we cannot detect it with our evolutionary senses. Zarathrustra can function in slow time, but we cannot. To biological man, slow time is as elusive as the atom because it is beyond our senses.

Strangely enough, the stone also would not know that we exist. We are moving much too fast for his senses to detect. It is much like a bullet flying past us. We cannot perceive its existence because it is just too fast.

The stone also is caught in its own dimension. The stone would see things move only if they moved at slow rates. Perhaps an inch each day, or an inch each year, or thousands of years.

This dimension of "slow time" is running parallel with our dimension of time called normal time. However, the slow time world is not our world. In fact, we don't even exist in the slow time dimension, or at least we cannot be perceived to exist. Our metabolic rate is too fast. We move too much.

The recognition of slow time as another dimension opens up many questions. First and foremost 'What exists in a fast time world?'. Are creatures moving about us with metabolic rates billions of times faster than ours? Are they moving so fast that they travel through matter without moving it. Perhaps here lies Ana May.

Also, what exists in super slow time? Again, perhaps Ana May or God. We don't know.

Garry, "Yes, But does the stone know?"

Stephen, "The stone probably does know in that he perceives. His perception would probably, but not necessarily, be different than ours. Bee hives and ant colonies act collectively to perceive without a central nervous system as we know it.

Therefore, so could clustered or individual molecules of the stone perceive their environment collectively.

It is assumed that a lens is necessary to perceive light. This isn't true. Lay one hand in the sun and one in the shade. You can perceive light by its transformation into heat. Or take a sheet of photographic paper and move a penlight near it in a pattern and you will see that the pattern is reproduced on the paper without a lens.

In dealing with the slow metabolic rate of the stone or metal, he would perceive light at a much slower rate. Any object that moved faster than his perception could not be seen by him much like we could not see the bullet pass by us. Any object that moved at a particular speed could not be perceived even thought it existed in the same area as the stone, but in a different time dimension."
