INDUSTRIAL CULTURE CHICK OF THE MONTH

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER BUT WOMAN IS GOD

In the winter of 1846-47 the Donner party was trapped in the mountains on their way to California.Two-thirds of the men died. Single adult men died first. One-third of the children died. The male children having the highest ratio. One-fourth of the women and most of them toward the end of the ordeal. It is understandable that the men would die first because as a species men are expendable. But why the young single ones? Because wisdom is more needed than virility and strength? The children went next. The last and least to go was Woman. She, "Woman" is the most important of our species. Woman is God.

Amanda Freeman is 15 years old. Her mother is a RN and her father does something with computers. She was born in Dayton Ohio. She plans to live every possible place to live on earth before she dies. Her occupation is nothing, but she baby-sits and makes jewelry in her spare time. She plans on going to college somewhere and hopes to eventually become something.

Her favorite places are her home (it's where the heart is) and a big red van (don't ask). She chooses not to limit herself to any "favorite" music or bands. Her favorite authors are Douglas Adams, Larry Niven, Robert A. Heinlein, and Isaac Asimov. Her favorite movies are Tombstone and Platoon.

Pet Peeves are two facedness, being plastic, and lying.

She plays flute, guitar, harmonica, piano, and will soon be playing oboe.

Amanda often has this far away look in her eyes. I have noticed that this look is only available to people that are deep and intense. She is able to absorb her environment completely.

She is photographed here listening/watching a poet at the Daily Grind Poetry readings.

Amanda has helped me with of my performance art pieces. "The End" and "America's second Civil War".

Her intellect is far beyond what her physical presence indicates.
