WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY - LAKE CAMPUS
EDT 280 - QUIZ #2 REVIEW
WINTER QUARTER 2000
A search will find records that match the criteria you specifiy. A database can find records of people that are older than 50 or all people that live in the state of Ohio. Searches are of the following types:
- Exact Match: The records must match the search criteria exactly
- Partial Match: Wildcard symbols (like the asterisk *) can be used to represent unknown letters. You might do a partial match for all types of "berry" fruits (strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, blueberry). The wildcard would represent any characters that came before the "berry". For example: *.berry
- Numeric Match: Logical operators can be used to find numerical information. If you wanted all of the people older than 50 you would enter >50 in the Age field.
