Non-Agricultural Page
I don't really have any interests
outside of agriculture, but if I did...
- Cleveland Indians
Baseball
- Baseball is an anchor. Like background music to my life. The
Indians and Herb Score have always been there, through good times
and bad.
- Medina County
Gazette
- Just in case my son Blake is mentioned on the sports page! He
was All-Conference in three sports last year as a high school
junior and is doing better this year. Football (Offensive Tackle
or Nose Guard), Wrestling (215 lb), and Track (Shot and Discus).
- THE Ohio State
University Home Page
- I graduated from OSU with a degree in Dairy Science in 1969.
In the late 70's I made the mistake of gifting them with $100.
Since then, they have probably spent 10x that amount on postage
trying to get more. But despite their attempts to alienate me, I
love the place anyway.
- Mennonite
Information Center
- I am not Mennonite but I do have a deep appreciation for their
values. I was raised Methodist and also have a deep appreciation
for their values. Unfortunately, I am also a confirmed backslider
and about the best I can do now is to not spread manure on Sunday
morning anywhere that the preacher can see me.
- Mennonites
and Canadian Agriculture
- Mennonites have long been noted for their love for the land
and their agricultural skills. In Europe they were the first to
introduce practices such as crop rotation, use of animal manure
and lime for fertilizer and other methods of soil enrichment. In
18th century Pennsylvania they were credited with establishing the
first intensive agriculture in America. An American contemporary
wrote that they (Mennonites) were noted for "the extent of their
orchards, the fertility of their soil, the productiveness of their
fields, the luxuriance of their meadows."

- The humble
Farmer
- A humble man broadcasting a TV show out of rural Maine. Full
texts of past shows are available here.
- Old
Tractors

I do most of my
"Low Cost
Structure Dairy Farming" with a "Low Cost Structure
Allis-Chalmers" that looks about like this one. This picture might
be a Model C while mine is a amalgamation of a "B", a "C" and a
"CA". Since I have an typical farmer's deep distrust of a freshly
painted used tractor, mine doesn't look this good. Allis-Chalmers
tractors are "Persian Orange".
- Frugal
Corner
- The aim of this site is to provide and continually expand the
informational resources needed to be successful at pursuing
frugality.
- Robert P.
VanNatta Home Page
- This guy isn't a Real Dairy Farmer, but I had to include him
somewhere, so I put him next to Frugality. Actually, he has
achieved the ideal: He's got the soul of a Dairy Farmer, but He's
smart enough not to BE a dairy farmer.
