From : GFA Software Technologies To : atari@bright.net Subject: GFA-BASIC Dear Mr. Prusell, Thank you for your request. But what you want to do is absolute not easy. A German firm has try to create a newer GFA-BASIC Atari version but during some years they only lost money and the result was a very, very slow program, with which one nobody want's to work with. Only the editor was better one to work with as the implemented one. - The point was, that they have written it all in C because nobody there was able to correct the optimized assembler code (and during the first year they have test many assembler programmers). - This will be nothing against you, but during the years there are comming up several peoples who want something to do, but nothing useable results at all. Also, only in the German maus.net there exist many patches for GFA-BASIC for the Atari to fix mostly all known errors. And it's easier to use this instead of developing an, may be, unreadable source. And, the rights of our sourcecode we never want to give away. It's the basement of all further development. If we allow something in any case, be sure everything will be placed in a contract. But if, this will be not my decission, our management will decide it.
