The Kalida Local School district has one elementary building housing kindergarten through sixth grade, and a high school building housing grades seven through twelve. The district has an enrollment of approximately 800 students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Kalida Elementary presently has an enrollment of 412 students in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Kindergarten students attend half-day classes five days a week. Title I  Services are available for those students requiring extra or specialized help. Grades 1-4 are basically self-contained while grades 5-6 operate with teacher specialists in the areas of Math, Science, and Social Studies. Music and Physical Education teachers conduct classes at all elementary levels. Individualized opportunities are available for handicapped students with a Learning Disabilities Unit and a Developmentally Handicapped Unit housed in the Elementary.

Kalida High School has an enrollment of 240 in grades 9-12 and 120 in grades 7-8. There are currently 21 credits required for graduation, which is higher than the state minimum. The high school's academic program includes College Preparation, General Education, and Vocational Education. The High School (grades 9-12) offers a total of 67.87 units of instruction. Kalida Local Schools is a member of the Vantage Vocational School, which provides greater vocational selections for interested students and adults, in addition to 120 courses available through  the Virtual High School Program. The High School also houses a Learning Disabilities unit.

Various sports programs are available including volleyball, baseball, golf, soccer, basketball and cross-country.  Kalida High School also has an excellent Music program including a marching and concert band.  An all school musical production is presented in the spring.

The district has assessed the students' needs and is providing programs in the following areas: computer education and programming, foreign language, and a guidance program that stresses the development of self-concept and self-esteem. These programs are continually evaluated, revised and expanded to meet the ever changing needs of the community and society.

Kalida Local Schools provide a comprehensive array of special education programs to meet the many and varied needs of the handicapped students so they are able to develop to their full potential and have an opportunity for a successful future.

The Kalida Local Schools operate a modern bus fleet of 7 buses which provide transportation to and from the school.

Brookhill Center School and Workshop which provides education, training, and employment to the mentally retarded and developmentally disabled individuals of Putnam County. Brookhill School and Workshop is approximately 10 miles from Kalida with a bus pick-up service in Kalida.
