Favorites Of The King Of The Fools!

A lot of people say I bitch and moan and complain about everything. I’ve actually had people ask me if there was anything that I liked. Well this section of MROTKOTF is here to address just that question. I like a lot of stuff! I love a lot of stuff! And here is where you’ll find that stuff! I won’t re-hash everything that I’ve already said on the page so far. Such as Joy, The Simpsons, La$ Vega$, and Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers. I think I’ve made my point on those. But there is a lot of other stuff I like. So, let’s get started shall we?

We’ll start with something that was tragically taken from me this Television season, and that was my favorite non-animated series…

TITUS!

Titus was the best! One of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen. Like Roger Clyne, Christopher Titus is nothing short of a genius. A comedic genius. His comedy is incredible. You can tell it’s very personal, but never do you feel sorry for him, and never are you laughing at him. You're always empathetic to his situation, and you are always laughing with him. As I said in the letter I sent to Fox voicing my opinion on their cancellation of this comedy masterpiece, MANY was the time my side hurt, and tears were streaming down my face from laughing so hard. Christopher’s character is utterly cool. He’s the kind of guy we’d all like for a big brother. Totally loyal, but would never be above putting a kick me sign on your back, just as the U.S. Olympic soccer team walked by. A guy you could see yourself hanging out with in real life. That’s what makes a successful character. Christopher’s girl friend/fiancé is Erin, who is a lot like my girl friend Joy. She loves Christopher very much, but never tries to change him. She accepts him and his family for who they are, or in spite of who they are. Whichever the situation dictates. Then there’s Christopher’s best friend Tommy. Like Erin, Tommy is extremely loyal to Christopher and his family. He knows how important friendship is. He just wants to be included and be part of what’s going on. He doesn’t want to be the center of attention, he just wants to share the experience. Ken (or Papa) Titus is the ultimate TV dad. Forget Mike Brady, Ward Cleaver, and Cliff Huxtable. You can sum up Ken Titus’ out look on life with just four words; "Don’t be a wussy." No one on the planet could have played that roll but Stacy Keach. Stacy Keach IS Ken Titus. (And I say that with all due respect to Christopher’s real life late father Ken Titus) Finally, there is Christopher’s brother Dave. Dave was my (and all of Monkey Stomp’s) favorite character. Dave is the guy we all wish we were. He’s the guy who got to do and say anything he wanted and got away with it. Christopher and Erin are great, but the biggest and best laughs from the show ALWAYS came from Dave, Tommy, and Ken interacting with one another. Titus will be missed like you wouldn’t believe. With any luck and a lot of praying maybe another network will pick the show up. If not there’s always hope that all the shows Fox have will find their way to DVD someday. Either way, I have my fingers crossed.

Next, I’d like to move away from the Television (Believe it or not). I’d like to talk about my favorite dessert. It’s a kind of ice cream. Well, it IS ice cream, just not the kind you’re use to. It’s called…

Oh man, this is the best stuff on the planet! It’s little tiny balls of ice cream. And it is cold! I know all ice cream is cold, that’s the idea behind ice cream (DUH!). But this stuff is like ultra-cold. I had some of this in La$ Vega$, (that’s where I was introduced to this stuff) and I ate it while walking down the strip, and it DIDN’T MELT! I got Joy hooked on this stuff while out there too. I’ve also got my mother, and a bunch of people on-line addicted to it. You can get this stuff out of vending machines too. Can you believe that? Out of a vending machine! It’s also available @ amusement parks like Cedar Point and King’s Island. If you see a Dippin’ Dots stand, or vending machine (still can’t believe you can get it in a machine, and if YOU don’t believe it, just look at the picture above) you should try it out! You can also learn a lot more about it by checking out their web page @ www.dippindots.com They have a section to find out where the closest Dippin’ Dots is to you.

Mmmmmmm Dippin’ Dots!

I love amusement parks. I’m a roller coaster junkie of the worst kind. Cedar Point’s Millennium Force, Magnum XL-200, The Raptor, and classics like The Iron Dragon, The Corkscrew, and Gemini top my list along with King’s Island’s The Beast, The Vortex, The Racer (forwards and backwards), and the King Cobra. But you know, my favorite ride isn’t a roller coaster at all. And it’s not located at Cedar Point or King’s Island. My favorite amusement park ride is The Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World. Granted, I’ve only rode it once, and I was six or seven at the time. It’s remained one of my fondest childhood memories. I remember walking into the stretch room, and watching the paintings stretch, to reveal they weren’t what they seemed to be. I remember loading into the Doombuggies with my cousin Jeremy. And I remember looking into the mirrors as we past them and seeing a ghost sitting in the Doombuggy with us. It was awesome! It was spooky, but a cool kind of spooky. A lot of people tell me that the ride isn’t as cool as I remember it, and I should just live with the memories that I have, because if I do ride it again, I will be let down, and disappointed. I don’t believe that’s true. I think that if I rode it again, it would cement the memories, and may even bring back some that I’ve forgot. I want to get back down to Disney World. I want to relive a few childhood memories. Such as, The Pirates of the Caribbean, The Enchanted Tiki Room, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Main Street USA, Space Mountain, but most of all The Haunted Mansion! If I do make it back down there, I plan on riding that ride at least a dozen times in a row. I want to memorize it from beginning to end. I wonder if I could video tape it? I know you’re not allowed to use flash photography inside. Hmmm. Till then, Grim Grinning Ghosts Come Out To Socialize!

I love comic books. I love sitting down with a kick @$$ graphic novel. And I’d like to share one of my favorite characters with you.

My all time favorite comic book super hero is Robin. (As in Batman and…) When we were kids my cousin Jeremy and I always played Batman and Robin, and I was always Robin. I don’t know if it was cause he was older or if I was smaller, but that’s the way it always worked out. I didn’t mind though, I thought Robin was cool. I like the Dick Grayson Robin, but I’m a bigger fan of the Tim Drake Robin. To start with, Tim’s costume is WAY cooler. Gone are the yellow cape, and the scaly green trunks and pointy boot. The cape is now black with a yellow fire and bulletproof liner. The trunks are now tights, and the pointy boots are now ninja shoes. Tim’s Robin is a lot different than Dick’s too. Where as Dick wanted to grow up and become Batman, Tim doesn’t. He just wants to be the best Robin he can be. So he doesn’t live in the Dark Knight’s shadow. Tim is also more of a thinking Robin than Dick was. Where Dick would just charge in and bust up a gang of thugs without thinking of the consequences, Tim thinks the situation through a little more. Calls for back up. Then acts. There was another Robin between Dick and Tim, Jason Todd, problem was, no one liked him. DC comics put a hotline number in the comic books for the fans to call and decide if Jason’s Robin lived or died. Well, the fans spoke, and Jason was blown to smithereens by the Joker. It seems the only one who misses Jason Todd is Batman himself. His mother doesn’t even miss him. Well, cause she was blown up in the same explosion. I have every single issue of Robin’s on going series, and both of his mini-series. It’s one book I’ll always re-new when the subscription comes close to running out. I’ll be a 90 year old man, still waiting by the mail box for my new issue of Robin to arrive.

I love fast food. And, until recently the only fast food I was exposed to was McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy’s, and Taco Bell. But, all that changed when Jay and I pulled into the parking lot of…

I have to admit, the only thing I knew of Jack In The Box was the e-coli problems they had in the past. But, knowing that is all behind them, we decided to give them a try, and I’m so glad we did. I have no problems admiting that Jack In The Box Is THE BEST fast food on the planet. I got burgers both times we were there and I have never had a better burger before and I doubt I ever will again. The fries are also superb! I always use to think that Mickey Dee’s fries were the best. I think that no more! Alas, there are no Jack In The Box’s in our area. I have my fingers crossed thought, and pray for a franchise to pop up around here somewhere. GOD BLESS YOU JACK!
