MAKE YOUR OWN MOUNTAIN BIKING AND ROAD TOURING OVERBOOTS

Being work on!!!!!!!!!

Introduction

These overboots are very easy to make and lightweight, weighting three oz for the pair. I used a pair SealSkinz socks for this project. I try the SealSkinz for hiking and found them to fit poorly and be impractical inside hiking boots. Lucky I keep them and now able to recycle them for better use. I made these overboots for mountain biking, but they also work for road touring.

Materials List

Instructions

Cut the SealSkinz sock from the top back to the heel and then toward to the toe. Leave a uncut toe pocket for your shoe to fit in. Sew the edges and reinforce the toe pocket area. The overboot sock will fit over the top of your shoe with the botton and back open. Sew on three 4 inch velcro fasteners, one at the instep, one at top of the heel and one at the top of the sock. Now sew on the velcro fasteners straps on the other side to lineup with exsisting fasteners.
