MAKE YOUR OWN SLED FOR WINTER BACKPACKING

Introduction

Here is the snow wagon I made for winter backpacking.

Materials List

• plastic sled
• PVC pipe - 2 pieces 1/2 inch diameter - 4 to 5 feet long
• 2 bolts 1/4 x 1 1/2
• quick links or carabiners
• tarp
• bungee cords to fasten tarp, shovel and gear to the sled

Instructions

Drill holes in both end of the PVC pipe. Bolt together one end of the pipes to each other to make tongue. Use quick links to attach the pipes to the sled and used another quick link to attach the tongue to the backpack. I think a tongue hitch works better than to hitch each pipe to the side of the body.
