The Putnam
County Historical Society is sponsoring, compiling, and publishing a Putnam
County, Ohio Family History in cooperation with M.T. Publishing Co.,
Inc.
Our purpose in publishing this biographical book is to preserve family
records for future research, documentation, and enjoyment. Portrait
&Biographical Record, Putnam
County ,1896
is the only published biography of the Putnam County Historical Society. This
book, presently out of print, has been a valuable research tool covering
Putnam
County citizens prior to 1900.
However, it is time to update and collect histories of families having lived
in Putnam County
during the 20 th century as well as those now living in the county. In order
to have a complete and accurate historical record, we need your help. Only
YOU can tell your family’s story!
If you are currently living in
Putnam
County or have previously resided
here, we want to include your family biography. You may submit your family
biography, with one photo, at no cost within a 500-word limit. Biographies
over 500 words will be charged 15 cents per word for each word over the
limit. Sample biographies can be sent to you upon request.
Write your biography in the third person (he, she, they) in typed,
double-spaced format on plain paper. Include information such as the date
your family came to the county, from what state or country your family
originated, and your vocation before and after settlement in
Putnam
County . You may include
interesting stories, records of marriage, births, military service and
education, and organizations and churches in which your family is involved.

(Deadline for ORDERING books is August 13th,
2005.)
History of the county, its churches, schools, organizations, and
businesses will also be included in this biographical history of
Putnam
County , along with photographs
to complement the text. This limited edition 8.5” x 11” hardbound history
will contain a minimum of 200 pages printed on high-quality, acid-free paper
for superior photo reproduction and durability. A limited number of books
will be printed at the pre-publication price of $49.95. After publication,
the price will increase by at least 10%, so order your copies today!
