Popeye the Sailor Cartoons The following complete, Agfacolor prints are either just begining to loose some blues... or they were printed that way- (the AAP titles are still stunning) so I'm calling them 'slightly shifted.' Bluto wrestles the crocadile, Popeye is swallowed by a tiger, Bluto says, "You only see an ugly face like his in an animated cartoon." But it takes spinach to save Olive from the leopards. 1944 An aap print without a single splice, but a bit faded. 35.00 1944 We Aim to Please 1934 Popeye and Olive open a diner on a side street. Wimpy comes in saying that he will "gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today," while Bluto gets into a scrap with Popeye after downing many sandwiches and refusing to pay, Popeye turns Bluto into "A Whole Lotta Baloney." Here's a beautiful print from television with the ship door titles and it features the song "We Aim to Please." 60.00 Farmer and the Belle Classic eternal triangle setup with Olive looking for a farmhand. Bluto and Popeye compete for the job- and for her heart. 1951 A complete, clean Agfacolor print with 1 splice. The blues are starting to go. 35.00 The Hungry Goat 1943 black and white War-era cartoon- Popeye battles a tin (and steel) eating goat who threatens to undermine the scrap metal drive by eating all the metals! He nearly destroys the destroyer. This cartoon also has references to projecting and the theater, but has strained sprocket holes throughout. Can you use it? a piece of WW2 americana for 45.00 Wimmin Hadn't Oughta Drive. 1940 directed by Dave Fleischer with the ship door titles.
