Hiking Trails

Ross Hollow Hiking trail is about 3.5 miles long.  The trail is located near Ross Hollow campground.

The  Logan Boy Scout Hiking Trail is over 21 miles of hiking trail  winding its way through the beautiful hills of southern Ohio.  The trail follows a figure eight pattern.  The South Loop of Logan Boy Scout Trail is 10.9 miles long and is the easier of the two loops.  The North Loop is 10.5 miles long.  What you will find, are scenic routes along valley streams, then challenging ascents nearly 400 feet to summits above, where level, easy to walk ridge trails provide the best in hiking pleasure.  Every mile of Logan is truly a nature trail in its own right, with vegetation and wildlife in abundance everywhere.

The Logan Trail is sponsored and maintained by: B.S.A., units 195 (Columbus, Ohio) and 104 (Dayton, Ohio)

A section of Ohio's Buckeye Trail (Blue Blazes) also passes through the area.

Swimming

Pine Lake has a beach where swimming is permitted during daylight hours.  Swim at your own risk. No lifeguard on duty.  Parents are responsible for their children.

“Keep an eye on the kids!”

Fishing and Hunting

Bluegill, bass and channel catfish provide good sport for the fisherman on Pine Lake.

There is an abundance of wildlife which provides excellent hunting opportunities for deer, grouse, and turkey in the adjacent State Forest.  In the Spring, the wooded hollows echo with the gobbling of wild turkey and the drumming of the ruffed grouse while park visitors are searching for morel mushrooms.

A valid Ohio hunting and fishing license are required

Boating

Boating with electric motors only are permitted on the 15 acre Pine Lake.  The lake is perfect for canoes and rowboats.  When the General Store is open, canoe and paddle boat rentals are available.  A launch ramp is located near the beach.

Mountain Bike Trail

Starting at the General Store, the trail runs along the beach and along the edge of the lake, over the spillway through the parking lot into an open field. Here's where it gets interesting. The trail winds through trees, through several creek crossings mostly on the level. Just when you think this trail is a piece of cake, up comes the hills for some very challenging riding.  The trail makes a complete circle bringing you back to the starting point. Total distance of the trail is 2.6 miles
