The Resident Camp

Groups renting the facility will have use of a dining lodge/ recreation hall, four clusters of 7 primitive sleeping cabins each having four sets of bunk beds, with one shower house/restroom for each of the four clusters of cabins. Facilities included are a basketball court, a volleyball court, shuffleboard, group fire ring, Green Cathedral and craft shelter. Boats and a newly renovated swimming beach with a water slide are also provided


Recreation and Dining Hall

Groups are responsible for providing all food and personnel.  Kitchen service includes, plates, bowls, glasses and silverware for 200 people.  Also included are enough serving bowls, platters, trays and pitchers for home style meals.


Equipment available for use in food preparation includes a cafeteria style counter with warmer trays, pots, pans, beverage dispensers, a vegetable slicer, food chopper, meat slicer, potato peeler, mixer, steam jacketed kettle, ovens, stoves, griddle, pizza oven, walk-in coolers, ice machine, freezers, deep fryer, can opener, coffee pot, food grinder, microwave, and a dishwasher.


Concession Room

A concession room in the lodge includes a freezer, icemaker and shelves.

Staff Cabins

The Ross, Hocking and Vinton Staff cabins are located behind the Recreation Hall.  The staff cabins include bunk beds, air conditioning, heat and restrooms. The Ross Cabin includes 4 sets of bunk beds (8 people), Hocking includes 5 sets of bunk beds (10 people) and Vinton includes 6 sets of bunk beds (12 people).


The Resident Camp is open to any organized group (Church groups, youth groups, schools, environmental groups, institutions).  The facility is available to groups of 60 to 200 persons.  Priority is given to groups of 150 or more.  The camp is open from May 1 through October 31.  A $390.00 deposit and signed contract are required for reservations.  The rental fee is $390.00 per night for up to 175 persons, plus $1.00 per night for each additional person.  On Monday through Thursday from September first through October thirty-first the fee is $210 dollars per night. Plan To Bring

Each camper should plan to bring bedding, towels, wash cloths, soap and toiletries.

Check Out

Each group is responsible for cleaning the entire facility after their use. A representative from the group renting the Resident Camp, and a  Tar Hollow staff member will review the facility to see that the cleaning procedures are adequately accomplished.  Please plan at least 2 hours for the inspection.  A DVD which outlines the cleaning process is available upon request.
