Maui Day 3: Hana & Beyond
Finishing up the drive to Hana then heading beyond to the 'Ohe'o Gulch (7 Sacred Pools) and farther. The Wai'anapanapa State Park is very nice, with a lot to do and see. Well worth the time to stop and explore there. The next time I go to Maui, I will take the advice of the Maui Revealed guidebook and spend a day or two in Hana. Then you can take your time driving there, then get an early start and see the southern part of the drive in the morning light. As it was, I did not reach Hana until 2 PM, and only had time to eat, stop into the Hasegawa General Store for a few minutes, then head out again. One of the things that it would be nice to spend more time at was the National Park. There was quite a bit that I did not get to see there, especially farther up the Pipiwai Trail. And it would be nice to go swimming at the 7 Pools, among other places on the trip. But there is never enough time to see everything.
