• For the taskbar above, what programs are open?
  All buttons on the taskbar represent open programs. For this taskbar it is Microsoft Word, Netscape, and Microsoft Excel

• Which program is the active program?
  The active program is represented by the indented button.  In the image above the active program is Microsoft Word.

• What time is it?
  At the far right the time shows as 9:10 AM.  This feature can be taken off the taskbar.

• How can you find out the date?
  Rest the mouse arrow over the time and a "tool tip" will appear which shows the date that is set within the computer.

• How can you switch between programs?
  Clicking a program button on the taskbar will bring that program to the front of the screen.  Click a different program and it becomes the active program.
