1. Evaluation: If you have questions concerning your dog we will
take the dog in for a short period of time (three to five days) for evaluation. During
this time, the dog will be exposed to birds, gunshot and water and given a basic
intelligence test. At the end of this evaluation we will give you our best assessment of
the dogs potential.
2. Force Fetch: Delivery to hand is a must if you are going to
trial, compete or simply qualify your dog to set standards. Over the years we have found
that consistency and persistence are the only way to achieve this desired goal. However,
we have also found that most dogs achieve this without the word FORCE being overused. Once
again, there are no shortcuts here. You wont get the desired results by hoping they
learn.
3. Basic Program: This program involves basic obedience,
retrieving, and water work and bird exposure. This program will give you an obedient dog
that will fit the bill for most hunters.
4. Intermediate Program: In this program we focus on steady to wing
and shot, as well as backing (honoring), blind retrieves and multiple retrieves.
5. Finished program: At this level we produce the finished dog, one
which will qualify for a Master Hunt Test Title.
E-collar: There has been much written about the use of the e-collar. I
wont attempt to add to it. I do use the e-collar and have been to instructional
classes as to the proper use of the e-collar. I can tell you one thing for sure, they are
not a substitute for training. They are a tool for it. A very simple way to determine if a
trainer/person is not using the e-collar properly is to see how the dog reacts when the
collar is brought out. Hopefully the dog will get excited because he relates good things
(birds, retrieving, etc.) to the collar. If he cowers or balks chances are that too much
force is being used
Price Quotes: If interested in any of the above programs drop me a
line for a quote. I feel that our prices are somewhere in the middle of the road. However,
I feel that our service is close to the top.
