What is the Juvenile First Offense Program?

This program was designed for the first time offender of a moving violation. The Office of Juvenile Probation will refer individuals for this program. This program will need to be completed within 30 days of notification.

What does the program involve?

The classroom covers the following topics:

  • Braking Skills
  • Dealing with Weather Conditions
  • Defensive Driving
  • Driving Attitude And Etiquette
  • Expressway Driving
  • Managing Intersections
  • Parking
  • Physical Limitations
  • Responsible Driving
  • Right Of Way
  • Sharing The Road
  • Stopping Distances

The program involves lecture, video tapes, computer simulations and discussion. Participation is mandatory. Without adequate participation, a certificate will not be issued.

When are classes?

The class will be held once a month on Wednesdays during office hours for 2 two hour sessions. When available the class will be held on Saturdays. Individuals need to call to schedule a class.

Where is class held?

Class is held at the Napoleon classroom located at 107 West Main Street. It is approximately 300 feet north of the intersection of State Routes 108 and 424. We can also be found just west of the law offices of Lankenau and Wesche.

What recognition will you receive?

Each participant will receive a certificate. It is the responsibility of the individual to make sure the probation office receives their certificate.

What is the Cost?

The cost is $60.00 per student for the 4 hour program. Checks are to be made out to Key Driving School. Payment should be made in advance of the first day of class.

How is Key Driving School licensed?

Driver training schools are licensed by the Ohio Department of Highway Safety and monitored through the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Office of Licensing and Commercial Standards.
